(A Very Cold Start to) 2018
My residency experience in Minneapolis, Minnesota exceeded my expectations! Although the weather was a drastic change for this Floridian, I embraced the opportunity to spend more time in the studio. During my time there, I conducted experiments using ceramic and plate glass, with the aim of encapsulation, fossilization, and preservation. This marked a significant departure from my prior work with epoxy resin in Asia, which was impossible to pursue in Minnesota’s cold winter.
I was fortunate to connect with local glass experts, including the wonderful people at Foci – Minnesota Center for Glass Arts , as I sought to produce successful pieces. The support and positivity I received from everyone at The Center were remarkable and contributed to an incredible experience.
